Agents Of Socialization Analysis

Agents of socialization is defined as individuals, social groups and institutions that informs us about our culture through family, school, peers, mass media, religion, and work. Expectations are created to create confidence and learning skills. There are a few different process that we all experience growing up and they are family, school, peers, mass media, religion, work, and social groups. Each one influences us on how we socialize with others around us in our society The family is the first because family is given to us the moment we are born. College is for when we are ready to become adults and work towards becoming successful and finding a career path. In elementary through high school we are told different rules on how we need to do homework to pass. Our teachers are constantly trying to help us succeed and get good grades. When we enter the life of college we are completely on our own and our teachers will not care if we pass or fail. We are left for the decision to work hard and succeed or to not care and fail. For me high school was rough because of all the classes i had to take and the pressure that was on my shoulders from everyone to do well in those classes. For college, having the classes being a lot harder, I have somewhat been able to succeed a lot better and get better grades. There are a lot of programs that are provided to students in high school that are held at school. These clubs or groups are normally supervised with a teacher so that the students are learning something and staying out of trouble. With college classes the clubs are held by students that are not supervised by teachers. Therefore there can be different clubs that can involve drinking or things that would never be allowed at a high school. Either way the clubs are preparing us for deciding what clubs to join in as adults or even what clubs to influence our future children to join as well. College gives us freedom to explore our choices which prepares us for the outer world
