Let the truth be told, some older employee can outwork a younger employee or vice of versa. For example, my father is a retired truck driver and even though he receives all his monthly benefits, he’s still work part time as a truck driver. On the other hand, my brother who claims to be job searching put in applications everywhere, but what the purpose of filing out an application when he refuses to follow up on it. Employers conduct pre-employment checks for liability reasons to protect their customers, employees, general public, reputation, and assets. If an individual has committed a crime and served time shall be given a second chance depending on the charges. A company does discriminate against ex-offenders with criminal history, especially sex predators. I was told that small minded people fear what they do not understand. Discrimination in the workplace is zero tolerate no job should condone unequal treatment. We live in a diverse nation with people who take their beliefs of stereotypes to a level that causes them to think that other are not equal to them. Life is short; there should be more love than
