This topical medicine helps prevent enzymes that causes the cell division that produces the growth of terminal hairs. This is applied on all the affected areas to prevent further growth.
You may also use other methods of removing the hair such as tweezing, waxing, and applying depilatory creams but it will not slow down the growth of your facial hair unless you address the main issue.
Another way to effectively get rid of unwanted facial hair is through laser hair removal. According to the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), most laser treatments work better on lighter skin with dark hair but it emits extended energy waves which helps remove the hair on dark skinned women. Longer waves tend to penetrate follicles without damaging the skin.
This procedure prevents the growth of hair on the treated areas and will start growing after three months. The AAD discourages women from performing this technique at home. A professional technician is highly recommended because the darkness of black women’s skin can lead to hyperpigmentation if not properly handled and applied.
