Ethics are moral principles that define right and wrong; the values help guide an organization or individual’s behavior. High ethical standards can increase morale in a workplace, which, in turn, may increase productivity, improve the quality of work, and decrease employee turnover rate. If managers and other leaders honor and demonstrate ethical behavior, it is likely that employees will reciprocate the actions.
