1. Introduction to AEON CO. (M) BHD. AEON CO. (M) BHD. is a top retailer in Malaysia that was established on 15 September 1984 and it has a staggering amount of RM3.51 billion aggregate income annually. AEON CO. (M) BHD. (AEON or the Company) was set up due to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir's invitation to help them modernize the retailing business in Malaysia. The ‘AEON’ name today is now a household name in the daily lives of Malaysians as well as foreigners, particularly due to its association with the AEON Group of Companies and other supporting companies.

For the following two years, Taste of Malaysia Fair (TOM) has returned to Japan by the invitation of Y.B Dato' Hasan Male – The Minister of Domestic Trade Cooperatives & Consumerism. This join collaboration between AEON Co (M) Bhd, AEON Japan and Ministry of Domestic Trade, Cooperative and Consumerism (MDTCC) aim are to promote and highlight the quality of Malaysian food to the people in Japan.
This year's event emphasize on 155 different food products that are all imported from Malaysia, including Malaysian food and fruits as well as a local brand by AEON, TOPVALU. (Anon, 2013)3 TOM in Japan was held for three days from 27 September to the 29th September 2013 at five selected AEON locations in Japan - AEON Makuhari, AEON Shinagawa, AEON Shinonome, and AEON Funabashi, with the opening ceremony being held at AEON Tsudanuma. The environmental activities taken are reduce the emission of CO2 which has a high probability on causing greenhouse effect. In the year 2013, the company achieved 11.5% reduction in CO2 emission compared to the previous year, based mainly on significant reduction in paper usage (decrease of 34.6%). (Anon, 2013)5 The company has minimized their paper usage in areas such as credit processing and customer service through usage of IT system solutions and 3R that is reuse, recycle and reduce while customers that use credit card are encouraged to use e-statement (Only limited to registered AEON Net members and AEON Credit Card user only).
