Authoritarian customs so that they would be knowledgable with the aspects from the said regime that could be beneficial to the growth of the country. ! INTRODUCTION
Authoritarianism has only one legal political party and a leader or group that controls the whole state even though there may be other parties. An authoritarian leader cannot be replaced by citizens by choosing freely among various competitors in a democratic election. It is the contrast to democracy. ( Dfoofnik , 2008 ) Authoritarianism in the Philippines is highly commended for its vast effect on the country’s economy and well being. Ferdinand Marcos issued Proclamation No. 1081 declaring the Martial Law in the Philippines on September 21,
1972. He issued the said law to justify the need for authoritarian rule to foster economic growth and prevent the leftist insurgencies. (Kushida, 2003) As Marcos imposes authoritarianism in the

It can be assumed that people are constantly looking change and innovation in the government and strain out all extremes in order to find the most suitable fit for our country. Researchers are in constant search of regimes that will be able to help the progression of the Philippines, so this paper would be beneficial to them as it gives knowledge about the overall view of Authoritarianism and the compatibility of its framework and structure in the country’s government.
Since the scope of this research is mainly the citizens of the Philippines because they are the group of people who are directly related and associated with the topic, this paper focuses on conducting several surveys on random everyday Filipino citizens. The respondents are composed of DLSU students with varying courses, employed people, people who are directly involved in the government, etc,. The survey was conducted through online with making use
