Quantitative Method

There are several advantages and disadvantages over this quantitative method. Initially, the closed questions are used for questionnaire because these answers are involved with required and ranking responses, which is convenient to use statistical technology to analyse the results (Gorard, 2003, p.56). So, one of the most advantages is that questionnaire is designed structurally, the data collected is unambiguous and objective. Moreover, the questionnaire could be used in a large number of sample without considering its limitations of the scale (Bryman, 2012, p.37). Furthermore, the time will be saved compared with interview method (Bryman, 2012, p.38). Last but not least, it is not necessary to consider its disclosure of information since questionnaire could be anonymous (Curry, Nembhard and …show more content…
However, if the questionnaire could not be designed appropriately, the question in it will lead to misunderstanding. So, there is only one chance to change some questions before handing out questionnaire. Accordingly, it also causes another problem the researcher is not able to explore the detailed and potential information but only based on the questions in the questionnaire. In general, the method is inclined to combine with qualitative method like interview because it is beneficial to collect more accurate and comprehensive data (Greener, 2011, p.8).
As a result, more papers are prone to adopt a combining quantitative and qualitative method through data collection and content comparative analysis. A mixed method is also called triangulation. A successful triangulation as a useful approach will take full advantage of the superiority of quantitative and qualitative method to obtain reliable and real data (Alston and bowles, 2003, p.64). For example, observation and interview can be combined to

Discussion Limitations Even though the survey was designed to minimize any biases and errors, some limitations are inevitable. Firstly, the survey was subject to a limited scope, as the group members were only able to ask respondents in their social circle. For this reason, it was difficult to gain respondents within a wide age demographic. In turn, this limitation could have resulted in reliability issues, as it is unclear whether the respondents closely reflect the population of interest as it was done anonymously. Self-selection bias also poses limitations in the survey results.…

The Childhood Cancer Survivor Survey constructed by the National Cancer Institute in 1993, they composed a retrospective piece of research into 14,000 ex-patients with 3,700 siblings. The conclusions drawn from the study inferred that the adults who survived childhood cancer, had the same positive psychological well-being as their siblings. Contradicting this, another report stated that adolescent survivors were 1.5 times more likely to have depression and anxiety in comparison to their siblings, and 1.7 times more likely to act out on antisocial behaviour. The majority of researchers carried out their investigations through the use of questionnaires, a self-report technique, therefore easily affected by subjectivity.…

Homeopathic Therapy Survey Homeopathic therapy can be an alternative or an adjunct to current medical treatment of both acute and chronic diseases and medical processes. Most patients who try homeopathic therapy subjectively state the methods displayed efficacy (Pomposelli et al., 2016). However, unless providers are specifically trained in homeopathic methods, this genre of healthcare can be overlooked. More knowledge was desired of current medical providers’ thoughts on homeopathic medicine, therefore a survey to ascertain this information was created. The purpose of this paper is to explain the electronic survey purpose, explain the procedure for protecting survey participants, perform statistical analysis using SPSS, provide a breakdown…
