One of the disadvantages is the lack of freedom to own. The government owns all properties of the citizens. They do not have the right to own businesses and the things that satisfies their wants.Second disadvantage is the lack of freedom to speech. The people cannot express their own thoughts and opinions. Third is the lack of freedom to choose. The citizens cannot choose their own religion, their own work, and their own place to live. They cannot also travel to the place where they wanted to go. These block the people’s freedom to live a life they wanted to. Because of these reasons, many countries that are under the communist government did not attain progress and equality (Antonio, 2007, par 3). In this type of government, people cannot produce new inventions because the government controls all the services and production of the economy. It also allocates all the resources of the country. Because of this, competition would never exist. Competition is the reason why the balance of supply and demand would be inadequate or would surplus because the supply and demand dictates the best way to produce products. The value of the money also affects the economy because the exchange rates are regularly fixed by the government (Shukla, 2011, par 3). Since making of innovative products are not recognized and the markets are inefficient, the communist labor force will be less productive and will result to the economic decrease.
