I just find it funny how in one country we criticize one economic system and encourage another, and it’s usually the opposite in a country right next to it. I’m talking mainly about Canada and the United States, of course. Because I’m a Negative Nancy who wants to get the bad stuff established. Also because I, personally, don’t really like market economies. Now here’s why, my man. Point one, they’re elitist as heck. They, for the most part, provide to the rich and powerful then go and dump on folks anwehere below upper-middle class. You can probably take a guess that that’s one of the main reasons i don’t like them. They’re also chock full of inequality. Market economies provide no social security net for anyone unemployed or on low income. This ties into the it being elitist. The more efficient use of resources has some fairly obvious motives, such as profit. Another plus, there tends to be a wider variety of goods and services available. Industries in Market economies res[pnd quicker to peoples wants, because it’s profitable. Some of the biggest points I’ve heard have been that market economy avoids the bureaucracy often involved in government intervention and the good old economic freedom being just as important as personal freedom.
