Girls have you ever been told to “sit like a lady” or “act like a lady”? Or boys whenever you get a girlfriend you are suppose to “treat her like a lady”? When I was younger, my parents always told me to “sit like a lady” especially when I wore a dress or a skirt. They would always tell me to “act like a lady” meaning I was suppose to be mannerly. And my dad always told me whenever I got a boyfriend he was suppose to respect me and “treat me like a lady.” You never hear “women” is those phrases.
