Achieving The American Dream

Finally, young people should have the equal of opportunity to get a job of overcoming the obstacles that blocked their path. Overcoming the obstacles in young people’s life will create a pathway to achieve the American Dream. According to the article, “Youth, Jobs and The American Dream”, Li Keqiang states, “Young people these days are seeking a work environment built on trust, … good health insurance for their families, regular raises plus a bonus system, a boss who is rational and no more than 50 hours a week of work.” Young people are expecting more benefits from a company before they start to work such as working in a good environment with good wages. Other than reducing the overseas businesses, there should be more green technology jobs available for young people. In Rank’s book, Chasing the American Dream, Rank states, “We can also develop new sources of quality jobs in new manufacturing industries, such as the production of new green technologies (Pollin, et al., 2009)” (qtd in Rank et al. 163). This illustrates the government should invest in the green technologies to create more jobs for young people. If a person is eager to learn, they should go to the extra mile whatever that mile will be. This will help to create more job opportunities for the young people. Furthermore, government and school can launch programs to prepare young people for those jobs. In the article, “Career Planning for High Schoolers”, Elka Torpey point outs, “Students can begin getting career-related experiences in high school through internships, employment, and other activities.” This will create the opportunity for young people who are willing to gain more skills in specific fields such as participate as an intern in green technology field to experience on how to turn the waste into
