If murder is the killing of a human being, and conception is the formation of a human being, then should you be allowed to commit murder? No. Abortion was commonly practiced in the colonial period in the United States, but then slowed down due to abortion clients’ health being in danger (“Medical and Ethical Questions Concerning Abortion." Para. 1). Abortion was illegal for many years, but is starting to make a comeback, and more people want it to be fully legal. Many factors can be people’s religion, culture, or beliefs. With the exception of rape cases, abortion should be illegal in the US because it is causes psychological damage, it can cause physical pain to the body, it is morally wrong, and it goes against biblical teachings. …show more content…
Along with that abortion, the woman that was carrying that baby goes through intense emotional pain. In a WEBA survey 56.1% of the women that have had an abortion went to counseling after the abortion (“Psychological reactions reported after abortion” para. 1). Chi-square tests have revealed that women who have had at least one abortion as a ten were significantly more likely to report night mares, flashbacks to the abortion, fear of punishment from god, and a waking or sleeping visitation from the aborted child. All of these women that have had an abortion have something in common; they are all fearful of something. They all feel guilty and fear that they will be punished in some way. Some abortion clients referred to their condition as posttraumatic stress disorder or PTSD, also seen by many war veterans (“Medical and Ethical Questions Concerning Abortion." Para. 9). Along with psychological pain there is physical pain, a pain that someone getting an abortion can rarely get away
