Choosing Life Over Death Conflicting issues often occur over the subject of abortions and whether or not they should be permitted. Each year between forty and fifty million abortions occur, that 's an estimated 125,000 deaths every day just from abortions. This is a very emotional topic as it deals with the life of a precious baby in which the child 's life is in the hands of its mother who has the option to have the child or kill it before it 's even born. Abortion by definition is defined as “the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first twenty-eight weeks of pregnancy.” An abortion isn 't just the death of an unborn baby, it’s murdering a child that will now have no chance to live

Unwanted pregnancies are said to cause intense stress and hardship in a variety of ways. The physical and psychological consequences of abortion however, can be far worse. Nine months of pregnancy may seem like a lot but it is a relatively small cost to pay in light of a lifetime of potential physical and mental problems. Studies show that “approximately 10% of women undergoing induced abortion suffer from immediate complications, of which one-fifth [are] considered major. However, the majority of complications take time to develop and will not be apparent for days, months, or even years” ( “Physical Dangers Associated With Abortions”). Abortions can lead to death for women who choose to undergo the process of abortion. Studies in the United States show that, “mortality rates after abortion were significantly higher than after childbirth,”showing that women have a better chance of living by having the child (“How Abortion Hurts Women”). In many cases, abortions cause depression and/or self harm. Suicidal thoughts are often very common after an abortion as well. Many women aren 't aware of these issues until after the abortion and then it 's too late. Wade made it legally okay that women abort their child because it 's their choice and they have the right to do what they want with their bodies (“Cutting Away At Roe v Wade; Abortion Laws in the South”). The government makes it seem okay for a mother to end the life of her child before it 's born, yet if it 's after birth it 's considered murder. Before and after birth the child shows signs of life, such as a heart beat. Killing a child is considered murder, therefore anyone who has an abortion should be charged with first degree murder. Why is abortion not considered murder yet killing a pregnant woman is considered double homicide? Killing is killing no matter the circumstances. The government doesn 't classify a fetus as a human when referring to abortions but in the case of a double homicide the fetus is considered a
