Public relations is sometimes described as the anvil upon which public opinion is forged. This means that public relations plays a key role in how a company is viewed by the public. Whether this view is negative or positive, its strongly affects the success of that company. A company needs to take measures to ensure the public opinion is in their favor. An example of a company who has been taking huge measures to boost the public opinion of them would be the ASL (American Soccer League) Fury. The ASL Fury is a new and upcoming professional soccer team who wants to raise their fan base. What better way to do so then to work on there public relations? As a soccer team in an upcoming league, the team has many problems they have to face before they can be successful due to the fact that there are already existing leagues and teams in those leagues that are successful. The Ceo of the League Matt Driver has over 30 years of experience in coaching, playing, and running soccer related programs. He believes that soccer in the …show more content…
Coach Driver also put together a team of people to run the Fury’s game day operations. The team is tasked with the goal of bringing in more fans. With loyal fans to pre existing teams in the Philly area, this wasn’t going to be easy. Instead of trying to win over fans of other teams, the team took another approach. Kids were made the main target of the public relations. The thought was that if you get the kids to want to see the games, not only are you establishing a bright future for the team and league, but the kids also had to be accompanied by there parents who would have to pay for admission to the games. Halftime events were set up and almost every game there was give always. By the end of last spring season, the fan base had grown enormously. Coach Driver claims to have many more ideas for the program as the ASL and Fury
