Designing and developing mood light in the aircraft was a sensation for many years the entire spectrum of technological innovations to fulfil passengers ever growing desire to increase comfort and create a harmony in every cabin. In contrast with the conventional cabin light, the mood light system was wonderfully smooth transition for the passenger’s enjoyment. The innovation allowed customers to relax and relish the lighting system that would adjust the illumination of the cabin between two flight phases slowly and gradually, in colour as well as brightness and shades. The lighting would adjust to an artificially shortened day during the flight to ensure that the passengers ' natural Biorhythms will be prepared slowly and gradually …show more content…
Finnair will continue to develop the lighting scenarios on board the aircraft as a part of the overall customer experience development notes Tallqvist. “The feedback has been positive,” he says “all in all, our A350 has received excellent customer feedback, and the lighting of the cabin is naturally a part of the overall experience.”
The Nordic carrier, Icelandair had also completed their first aircraft installation of the new lighting system ‘EMTEQs’ onto a B757. This system is supported by QUASAR 2 which provides full spectrum mood lights in the ceiling as well as brighten the sidewalls. The system allows the aircraft to pick the customised scenes displayed on their aircraft’s ceiling as well as pick and control dynamic colours and their intensity levels.
Ed Callahan, EMTEQ Director Global Business Development, stated, “We were really excited to work with Icelandair to help them realise a lighting system that helps achieve their strategic branding objectives. We really commend Icelandair for going beyond what anyone else in the industry is doing with mood lighting, and really using this lighting system’s full …show more content…
“In the early days of passenger air transport, light was primarily utilised for orientation purposes. As technologies developed, dimmable lighting was introduced, and more recently, airlines have started using different coloured lighting to modify the cabin mood. Our intention is to significantly supplement the existing lighting options with the projection of (moving) images, animation, and information and thus realize its value-added features, says expert cabin lighting at Diehl Aerospace Dr. Martin Richter.
“The ability to include additional information (infotainment) means that, for example, the flight paths can be illustrated with the use of streamed images; any area currently under the flight path can be illustrated and enhanced with further information and animation,” he adds.
Deihl Aerospace revolutionised the basic classic lighting system, and created a new personalisation/moving lighting system instead, this was called ‘Dandelion’ in fact Deihl is the first manufacturer who has developed such
