Survey is a way of assembling large selection of data about prevalence, distribution, the relationship of variables in every population. Fundamentally, survey are the chosen design for correlational and descriptive analysis (Polit and Beck, 2011; Parahoo, 2006).In a survey they make use of questionnaires and semi-structured or structured interviews to collect data. Specifically, in this research article the method of collecting data is used is semi structured interviews. Semi- structured interview is consisting of chosen topics and open end questions. They are greatly adopted by many methodological concepts in nursing research (Gerrish and Lacey, 2010).However it does not show that a wider range of data collection is used.
Moreover, in nursing research, in order to generate valuable findings instruments are used to certify the validity and reliability of a study. Similarly, an instrument is of validity, if the measurement outlines to measure and reliable if the findings are of consistence and repeated. Essentially, the instrument must track record correctly and presents similar results at various times and various conditions. Therefore validity and reliability must be established in order to decide on the rigour of a study (Parahoo 2006; Holland and Rees, …show more content…
For instance, multiple regression consists of a group of two or additional independent and a dependent variables, whilst the result of the couple or additional approach are dependant variables (Fawcett and Garity, 2009). Moreover, adopting small samples can cause error in hypothetical testing in multiple regressions, when a null hypothesis is accepted which is a type two error or incorrect; therefore correct sample size should be used by the nurse researcher.
Additionally, the author refers to exploratory pilot which also mean pilot study in this research article. A pilot study is shorter research study which is being done before the main research study. It is done in the same way as the main research study to clarify on methodology(Burns and Grove, 2011; Prescott and Soeken, 1989).This study of this article was a pilot study. The author has not mentioned how sample size was acquired, either by predominant method or by making used of power
