Focusing on studies is one way to receive good schooling as asserted by Richard Rodriguez author of A Story Of Schooling. Despite my roommate and other students on my dorm floor tried to befriend me and convince me to calm down about my studies, I chose to always put my studies first regardless. Grades are like a religion to me thus, if I do not receive good grades, I would fail my whole family and not myself. (533) Graduating from top rated high school in the state and country has influenced my studies greatly along with teachers who cared about me and wanted me to succeed. Furthermore, my sister is a good student and has always received excellent grades, which being around her is motivating along with the good grades I received.
