The True Story of Ella

As she walked down the dirty path in the woods, she kept looking behind her, with a sense that she was being followed. The sky was dark with only the moon to guide her. The only sounds that could be heard were the soft hoots of an owl and the hints of music from the festival. The girl clutched her bag even tighter as she walked down the road.

One day, Cinderella went to her mother’s grave after her sisters had thrown a bowl of peas into the fireplace for her to pick out yet again.
“Please help me,” Ella begged to her mother. Her mother saw her pain and sent her magical birds that would grant her wishes. And so a bird flew down and picked out the peas from the fireplace.

"You asked before. My name is Ella. What is yours?"
"And I 'm Prince Phillip," the man said casually.
"No, honestly what is your name?"
"I am the prince of this kingdom." Ella began to walk away but stopped when Phillip called her name. "Everything I told you before is true. I left the ball today because no one there was kind. No one wanted to see who I really was. They were just after the throne. But you, you are kind and honest. Come with me and you don’t have to leave this town. You can have everything you want."
"I don 't need anything…" Ella started. "I don 't need a man to save me. I can survive on my own.
"Then help me lead. With your kindness and independence, the kingdom will prosper. Come with me," Phillip said as he held out his hand.
Ella hesitated for a moment before taking it in hers. The two began to walk back to the castle. Ella may have meet her prince, but she knew that she did not need a prince to save her. This was all her doing. She
