1. (5 points) Describe the differences between a retrospective study, a prospective study, and an experiment. Use complete sentences and no more than half a page.
A Retrospective study is to identify the reasons leads to the incident or events that looking back to the history, and it is defined as a study that “examines past events to determine the factors that influenced the events” (Kuzma 1992,6). Prospective studies are calculating the future based on the data analysis, and it is defined as a study that “examine the outcomes of event that occur in the future” (Kuzma 1992,6).

The probability of a system failure is P(A) + P(B) = 0.30 + 0.20 = 0.5 or 5%
9. (5 points) What is the probability of selecting a club from a deck of cards?
A deck of card has 52 total and each suit has 13 total. So 13/52= 0.25 or 25%
10. (5 points) You have eight poker chips, six red and two blue. What is the probability of selecting one red chip?
Probability of selecting on red chip is 6/8 = 0.75 or
