“Mmmmmmm,” hummed the engine. Abruptly, the noisy world, with all the cars swiftly zooming by, went silent. The van continued rolling, propelled by the force of what had recently been a working engine. The silence remained unbroken until finally, my mom interrupted it.

We left our suitcases in the room and paid for another day, as we couldn’t leave until the van was fixed. I got to, and had to, spend the whole day with my family. There was a large park across the street from the hotel. There we found a stick and a ball, so we played baseball, with only hitting the ball, so more like whackball or

Outside was impossibly hot, so we explored Walmart for most of the morning. At lunchtime, we went to taco bell, one of the few restaurants within walking range. After eating, we sat there talking and playing games for a few hours. Then, around 2:40, someone called.
“Hello? ” Mom answered. “Ok.” “Oh. Ok.” “Kay. Bye.” She put the phone down. “They have the part of the van fixed, but they found that it also needs another part. It’ll take a few days to arrive here because they have none in stock,” Mom said. After some talking, my dad finally said
