A Helping Man: William Ezzard

William Ezzard, now fifty years old, resides in Old Orchard Beach, teaching various subjects including writing, social studies, reading and science, at BMS (Biddeford Middle School). Before this, he experienced many things, including finding his perfect career job, experienced the extraordinary moments of traveling to magical places all around the world, finding his true love, and always helping people in need. A lot of friends and family members would call him a type of philanthropist, which in hindsight is true. Throughout his life, he would always do what he loves, and that is writing and teaching. Peace Corps is a U.S. government group that sends people to other countries to help when needed. In this case, he wanted to help by teaching in schools. He called the Peace Corps and the woman answered. He asked what to wear and she said, "What would you wear to a business interview." Mr. Ezzard took this helpful advice and choose to wear a suit. Since Mr. Ezzard wanted to be helpful by following the woman's advice, he had to make a somewhat long drive to his family home where his only suit was at. After he acquired his suit, he went to the interview. Also, the women on the phone was interviewing him. The woman's name was Becky. The interview was positive and he even wrote a thank you letter to her. He eventually asked her to go out to eat since he thought she was pretty and was cordial. She declined and he asked many times after. Eventually, she answered yes, and in conclusion, they went out. Their first date was at a commonplace restaurant with typical food. Instead of ordering a burger or something ordinary, he ordered a squid dish. This impressed her. Above all, this date lasted for ten hours. After meeting and dating for nine months, he proposed and she said yes. After, she answered yes, he got shipped off to Micronesia to teach various subjects in schools for the Peace Corps for two years. Ezzard had a teaching life very different from others. In the Peace Corps, he would fluently teach English and other subjects in the Solomon Islands and Micronesia in schools. This sparked his passion for teaching. Even more, he went to Queens College doing a dual major, meaning he studied two things. Speaking of this, he studied creative writing and American Literature.
