Imagine a world in which America had actually lost World War II. Consider the impact the Nazi’s would have had on the world if they were to win. It can be hard to determine as there can be multiple scenarios to how this would play out. Along with this, there is no true way to determine what would have happened. The book, “The Man in The High Castle” takes a look at what the world would be like if the Axis powers had won World War II. The story takes place about twenty years after the war had finished. The Man in the High Castle is contrasting to World
War II because both had different outcomes of the war, both events left the world in a different state than when it started, and each war saw different approaches to the war.

In addition, FDR would not be able to pull the United States out of the Great
Depression. This led to the US not having enough to fund their military, or help fund the USSR and Great Britain’s war efforts. In contrast to this is the real event that had happened in which
FDR was not slain. In “World War II: Before the War” it details the events that had happened that led up to the war taking place with Germany invading Poland (Taylor). The start of the war is debated amongst people with some saying it started when Japan invaded Manchuria in 1931.
Taking a look at the economic status of America, FDR was able enact “The New Deal” which helped drive Industrialization in the United States and generate income for the country. These two events essentially set the stage for how the war would turn out during the war and ultimately after the war.
During the war in both the alternate and real time line, each side seemed to have certain issues that led to their demise. The Nazi’s had a large advantage over their opposition as they were a well funded military powerhouse while the United States, USSR and Great Britain
