Can we follow it, please!” “I don’t see why… not!” said mama with a childish grin on her face as she skid the car round an intersection. “Oh oh, he’s already looking for evidence of my story,” laughed papu as he reached for the passenger assist handle, “But, Dipper, you just need to understand the full difficulty of this quest. If it was easy, everyone would do it.” “I know. I know, papu. But, this time I can feel it in my belly button.” “Dipper, I can’t see the rainbow well in this direction. How about you point the directions this time,” said mama, “Dad, why don’t you call Gary, and tell him that we’re taking a drive.” “Affirmative.” “Mama! Mama! Turn! Thanks mama!” We never found the end of the rainbow. But grandpa assured me later that leprechauns didn’t put their gold under any American rainbows anyway, because leprechauns only lived in his homeland. He had said that he saw one once back in Ireland. He was three foot tall wearing a green suit, top hat, and black shoes that squeaked. I had asked him if he could have been a midget, but grandpa just said, “Nope, I’m certain. Only leprechauns carry pots of gold under the moonlight, and each of the coins themselves are as long as your pinky fingers.” To this I would sigh in amazement. That enough had mesmerized my little self, but I promptly forgot about it until I saw a rainbow again, two years ago. And then it hit me, if I map out the parabola, and triangulate the position of the rainbow relative to the camera, I could create an app that could determine the exact placement of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
