7 Psalms For The Homeschool Mom

Improved Essays
Being a mom is hard. The job of a homeschool mom is hard on a different level. Caring for a family and home with the added pressure of children’s education is something that can be overwhelming. I’ve been on this journey for twelve years and I have had my fair share of days when I wanted to pull my hair out and scream.

7 Psalms for the Homeschool Mom

One good thing about this journey is I’m not the only one on it. I’m not swimming around in the middle of shark infested waters alone trying to survive. There are others who are experiencing the same thing or have already completed this journey and are now enjoying their green valley. Many of these moms will stick together to be an encouragement to each other. But most importantly, I have the One who led me on this journey guiding me in every decision I make.

There are tons of verses that encourage, but today I’m sharing just seven.

There will be days when you use an elevated voice to get your point across. Your actions may say one thing when your heart says another. But just remember – Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

With laundry scattered and a house that looks as if it has been ransacked; push the clothes in the laundry room and close the door because it’s not going anywhere. Tidy up the house as best as you can.

Psalm 27:14 Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

When the storms begin to roll (and they will) just remember, you have a refuge you can run to and a shield you can hide behind. We don’t have to fear what is going on around us.

Psalm 32:7 Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance.

The Called & Chosen: We are so quick in blaming the “Fig Tree” for being fruitless, when fruit is needed from it by our Lord Jesus. {Matthew, 24:-32} Let us give ourselves a reality check. Are we better off than the Fig Tree? Are we fruitful in Christ or mere pretenders? Caring more for our various denominational rules and tenets than preaching the Kingdom of God as mandated.…

Homeschooling is a successful form of education, but unfortunately it is disvalued for its uncommon style of teachings. The unique learning experience produces a variety of viewpoints around the role of participation from the parents and the impact of success a student accomplishes being homeschooled. Home education faces the challenge of being credited for its academic success, instead it is stereotyped to be an inefficient form of education and a deprive to a child’s socialization. These perceptions leave the parents less motivated to investigate the credible facts of academic success in homeschooling, sending them in a default direction to public school their child. Despite the non-supporters, homeschooling seems to still be formulating…

The Relationship of Hanukkah With Christmas Hanukkah and the lighting of the nine candle menorah take place for eight days in memorial of the miracle that happened at the rededication of the temple on the 24th of Kislev around 160 BC. Although the miracle of the oil is an awesome act of God, it is the opinion of this ministry that the greater miracle was the preservation of the Jews. My point is that if the Maccabee’s had not prevailed for the three years that they did, against the evil Emperor Antiochus of Syria, the Jewish people would have become extinct. God however intervened, and helped this small band of freedom fighters that were out-numbered seven to one in order to preserve the blood line that Yeshua (Jesus) was to come through. Therefore, without Hanukkah there could be no…

Paul advises God’s followers to live worthy lives in Christ (4:1). “I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called.” Ephesians 4:1-6 are the first verses following the preceding half of the book. Similar to how one would plan to write an essay or dissertation, Paul uses the first verses of the second half to operate as a mock thesis statement for the rest of the book. In this short excerpt, Paul highlights the principle of putting the life God provided his followers to use.…

"Therefore, since we have such hope, we use great boldness of speech— unlike Moses, who put a veil over his face so that the children of Israel could not look steadily at the end of what was passing away" (2 Corinthians 3:12-13). We've seen how the Apostle Paul has utilized the literary device of comparison in referencing the account of Moses' experience on Mount Sinai as he stood in the presence of God to receive the Ten Commandments. As a result of Moses' encounter with God, we're told that "...his face was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord" (Exodus 34:29 NIV). Perhaps not surprisingly, the following verses go on to tell us that other members of Old Testament Israel were afraid to approach Moses because of this.…

Fate and justice are determined by a higher power as Oedipus decides to continue to follow the fate the gods have laid out for him; in doing so, he puts himself in the direct path of that very fate. To begin, he visits the oracles, he concedes the power of fate as the reason for his destruction, and he fights dynamically to meet his end as the gods promised. Due to these factors, Fate and justice is determined by a higher power. To begin, God sends the prophesies to Oedipus that allows him to reveal his past.…
