When you don’t have goals set for yourself someone else will have the option to pick your own future for you . An example of a mission statement timeline is “ age 15 - graduate high school get a job , age 20 -save money and get a house , age 25 have kids get married , age 30 open my own business with savings , continued.” My personal mission statement is “My personal mission statement is that I wanna make a change in the world, I want to be able to give other people hope that there’s more to come than the simple things they have right now. I wanna show people that their hard work pays off in the future and that all their hard work is not going to waste. Everyone deserves a chance to prove that they a worthy for what they want to do.” So when I made a timeline of it , it had steps explaining how to get to my goal. There's a difference between Important & Urgent. “Important- your most important things, that contribute to your goals. Urgent- things that have to be done ASAP or have a deadline.” In the book, it says “Never Let Your Fears Make Your Decisions” meaning that if you have a decision to make don't be scared to make it, take the risk. It also states “To overcome peer pressure, you’ve got to care more about what you think of you than what other people think of you. “ that means that you need to care about yourself, make your own decisions so that people can't think much of you. Habit 3 had quadrants that show who you are, “Quadrant #1: The Procrastinator- “Thrives under pressure. Last Minute - get it done - learn nothing. Stress & anxiety. Tiredness/ burnt out. Average performance. Quadrant #2: The Prioritizer- “important but not urgent—like relaxation, friendships, working out, planning ahead, and doing homework . . . on time! Quadrant #3: The Yes-man- “urgent but not important. Please other people and responding to their every desire. Things that you would like to say no to but can’t because you’re afraid you might offend someone. Tries so hard to please everyone that he usually ends up pleasing nobody, including himself.
