5. Explain the Hierarchy of control
The Hierarchy of control, is an effective system to determine the correct control measures to implement for identified risks and hazards.
The hierarchy of control matrix breaks risk control measures down to not only effectively control risks, but determine how to ensure the risk is eliminated, reduced and/or monitored correctly..
The hierarchy of control ensures all options for risk control are considered before any final decisions are made.
The hierarchy of control consists of six sections that covers all options of control measures.
1, Eliminate – Remove the risk/hazard
2, Substitute – Replace the risk/hazard
3, Isolate – Isolate the risk/hazard, or move the risk or hazard away from danger and employees
