the main character in “13 Gifts” written by Wendy Mass is a twelve year old girl named Tara. She is very bossy,concerned,and disobedient. the problem is tara tried to steal a goat from the principal's office and gets caught. so she has to got to her aunt’s house instead of going on a big family vacation. tara is a very bossy girl. when she is with her friends she is usually the person to tell them what to do. also when her friends have something wrong with them she is the person they always go to.

throughout the story tara is very concerned. she is always calling her parents to make sure everything is ok. she always likes to make sure she knows where her cousin emily is. she also always protects her.
