Kingo’s 1-888-Junk-Van has been a very profitable business in the junk removal since it started operating in 2008. With its unique virtual business model, competitive prices and services offered, Mr. Kingo was able to see his business grow successfully at a fast paced. Yet as his business grew, complications increased and grew with it. Mr.Kingo’s business model is not as compatible as it was in the beginning of its operations. Currently, 1-800-JUNK-VAN’s employees use MS Works database to input data in the system to keep track of information about customers, jobs, employment payroll and invoices. Information stored in the database is transmitted via e-mail between employees and sharing only one copy of the updated database among them has made it very challenging for employees to keep up with their routine activities. A central database will help the company increase its productivity since fixing the database currently takes a great amount of time and prevents them to take new reservations. The new system should also be user-friendly and easy to implement in a short period of time. This is very important criteria because Mr.Kingo and its employees do not have great IT expertise and depend on the system for their daily operations. The ideal solution also demands flexibility, vendor support and needs to be as low-cost as possible for 1-800-JUNK-VAN to be still able to offer competitive prices. Having support from its vendor is relatively important for the company in the integration and implementation process as well as system maintenance. Mr.Kingo is looking forward to expand its business through franchising. Therefore, a flexible technology system is essential because it allows 1-888-JUNK-VAN to add, remove or modify features in
