To eliminate current information system complications and facilitate 1-800-JUNK-VAN’s future growth, different requirements are to be met by the novel information system tool to match the company’s need. The required system needs to have a central database remotely accessible to its employees, thus removing internal information flow via e-mail and the possibility of sending the wrong version of the database. A central database will help the company increase its productivity since fixing the database currently takes a great amount of time and prevents them to take new reservations. The new system should also be user-friendly and easy to implement in a short period of time. This is very important criteria because Mr.Kingo and its employees do not have great IT expertise and depend on the system for their daily operations. The ideal solution also demands flexibility, vendor support and needs to be as low-cost as possible for 1-800-JUNK-VAN to be still able to offer competitive prices.
