    A Summer to Die Molly and Meg Chalmers are very different. Molly is the type of person who is the popular girl at school, has multiple boyfriends, and is known for her beauty and laughter. She takes pride in the little things in life, just like her mother. On the other side, Meg is a very awkward kind of girl, instead of living in a fantasy world like her sister, she pays attention to the logic of everything, like her father. They believe that if they get excited about the little things, then they will keep the big ones from coming. You could say, they are quite the opposite, but in every group of sisters, there is always a similarity. Meg’s dad has to take a year off teaching to finish his book, The Dialectic Synthesis of Irony. There is one problem, though, he is struggling to find creativity and inspiration from his surroundings. The family decides to move to the countryside of Massachusetts, to an old house built in 1832. When they get to the house, Meg instantly runs inside and looks at every single room and corner in the house. She finds a small room, which she thinks it’s hers and realizes that it’s the perfect place to hide feelings,emotions, and thoughts. To her disappointment, that room is going to be her father’s study, where he is going to finish the book. After a photographic walk a couple of days after New Year’s, Meg meets the owner of the house, William Banks. The family later becomes close friends with him, but Meg finds a familiar feel with him.
