Whoa! I thought I would never like poems. The highwayman sure did change my thoughts about poems. It has so much emotion to it. You can almost feel getting shot like he did. Or when Bess shot herself, while she was trying to “twist her hands behind her and wiggle out of the knots.” They when her finger found the trigger it was like you could feel it happening. There was so much drama in this poem. Some stuff you couldn't even imagine why the people would do what they did to push Bess to kill herself, or why the horse man would tell Bess’s father that she was talking to the highwayman.
