Why People Feel Assessment

My score for the how important do I make people feel assessment was a 47. I agree the interpretation that suggests that I typically make people feel important, but there is always room for improvement. I still get jealous from time to time of the accomplishments and opportunities that people get to be a part of, but I generally try to make sure that I check myself before my ego flares up. When I was younger I had a bad habit of tearing people down when I was envious of them, but I have worked extremely hard in my adult years to really uplift people let them have there moment when it comes. For the am I being rude quiz, I scored 12 no’s and am an asset to my employer.

I worked at the hotels of Disney for about two and a half years and was able to create more of these moments than I can even remember. The most memorable one was of a couple that was the biggest Disney fans I had ever met. They got married at Disneyworld, traveled to all of the international Disney Parks, and were at Disneyland to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. Up until this point of the trip, they were not impressed with the service they were receiving, and decided to rent a cabana by the pool and just relax for a day. After meeting them and hearing their frustrations, I knew I had to turn things around. So as they left to get swimsuits and what not, I went to work on the cabana. I made towel love swans and went to the Disney store to comp everything that had to do with anniversaries. I booked massages at the spa and even ordered them a cake. I was going to do everything in my power to make sure they knew that I appreciated their business and that Disney is still number one. They ended up telling me that they have never experienced service like that anywhere in their entire lives and that Disney should create a job for me in conflict resolution, but that is beside the point. The next day they came back to rent a cabana again, but this time they had all of their family and friends with them and ended up rented all the cabanas I had. All of this happened because I chose to strive for the “wow”

Growing up in one of the poorest regions of the United States has taught me two things; one, we are not defined by stereotypes, and two, hardships are made to be overcome. Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, Middlesboro, KY sits on the Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia border. The multicolored fall foliage and the vivid green mountains in the spring are disserved by the descriptor spectacular. My roots are firmly nestled in the Cumberland Gap where Daniel Boone started his journey to the West decades ago. I am proud to call myself an Appalachian-American.…

The self-assessment also showed that I am on the in-group side. I agree with my results because I also tend to be close with my managers. Typically I attempt to form a trusting relationship with management the moment I start the job because I see this to be the most important factor in being on the in-group side. After the trusting relationship is formed, other factors of being on the in-group side begin to take place such as having the manager recognize my potential and listening carefully to what I have to say.…

Over the duration of my senior summer I was allowed to experience many wonders as I transitioned out of one segment of my life to a new one; however, possibly to greatest experience out of the entire time period of my summer was my family's trip to six flags. We began planning for the trip months in advance saving money, gathering supplies, and making reservations. We toiled through this segment of planing making sure that all of the details of the trip would be perfect. Once all of our details were lined up ducks in a row and bags packed as if we were to stay for a month, we began travel on the an interstate that was as busy as an ant nest just before winter, as in when they begin to store food, but I digress we weaved through the traffic,…

Self Assessment Analysis: Listening One major communication flaw of mine is my inability to listen to others at times. The idiom, “you have one mouth and two ears, so you should listen twice as much as you talk,” makes sense. However, it has been hard to implement this idea in my life. I have noticed in conversations that I sometimes “check out” and start thinking about other things, completely ignoring the person talking.…

An individual that has a low score on the scale believes that they have an internal control over the events in their life. While an individual who has a high score believes that external forces play a role in their life. I scored at a number 4 on the Locus of Control assessment, giving me an internal locus of control. My score of 4 on the assessment was no surprise to me based on the values that I have in both my personal and professional life.…
