Resources and Access
Library services and resources are tailored to fulfill the needs of the University’s curriculum across all modalities. In 2012, the Rose Traurig Library aligned its strategic plan with the Academic Affairs and University plans, wherein the main goal of the library is to better serve our student population by becoming 80-90% electronic by FY15. To meet this objective, 14 new databases were procured, including 3 e-book collections. The library employs 3 professional librarians and 7 community student library assistants to provide academic support to all constituents across all modalities.

In addition, the university subscribes to Health Business Elite and Health Policy Reference Center, on the Ebsco platform. The library also subscribes to Proquest Central, with access to the Nursing & Allied Health Source, which provides abstracting and indexing for more than 850 titles, with over 715 titles in full-text, plus more than 12,000 full text dissertations representing the most rigorous scholarship in nursing and related fields. The library will be adding the following databases to further support the nursing program: Wiley’s Cochrane Library, McGraw Hill’s AccessMedicine, and Up to Date.
Information and Technology Literacy
The library staff devotes considerable attention to promoting information literacy instruction for all students. The library offers students ongoing support and training on information resources and technology through online tutorials, email, by phone or in person with a designated librarian. The Reference Librarian is the liaison for ADP students, and works closely with Academic Success Counselors who are responsible for reaching out to, and developing rewarding relationships with, online students.
