Verification involves scientists looking for evidence and performing tests that supports their theory, and without evidence the theory can neither be credited or discredited. An example of this is evolution V’s creationism. For numerous years the majority of the population believed in the creationists version of events involving the creation of the World. Many believed in God and how he created the World and everything in it within 6 days. However, over time after scientists such as Darwin, developed the theory of evolution, there became fossil evidence that supported his theory and discredited the creationist belief to an extent. Although some still believe in the creationist theory the majority now support the idea of evolution as it has more scientific evidence to support the theory. This shows religious beliefs can have an influence in theories and that support for them is subjective to the person. Religion does not need evidence as instead they faith and beliefs taught from others in the church such as priests, vicars and scriptures. Before the theory of evolution was accepted is was believed as blasphemy to talk out against God. Even if others believed in the evolution theory they did not have the right to speak freely about it as talking against God could lead to your execution, so these religious beliefs slowed the progress in the
