Did you know that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) have concluded that 42% of all Americans play video games for at least 3 hours a day! That is almost is 150 million people in the USA alone! Video games have come a long way from where it began. The first video game ever created was the game of “Pong” in 1972. A simple, 2-dimensional game that can be recreated in less than 30 minutes. In 40 years, it went from Pong to Extremely complex, almost life-like video games that took years and millions, if not billions of lines to code. Now, video games are treated the same as sports. There are competitions and shows about video games as well. With that, violent video games were also created. This is where the problems begin. Although video games are fun, it also has a bad side. Violent video games have caused many adverse effects whether it be in a person’s physiological reactions, thoughts or emotions.
