What does a simple life mean to you? What is the aim to your life? If there is hundred people try to answer this question, there will be hundred different answers. To live, Ju Dou and Beijing Bicycle all these three films are focusing on resilience of Chinese people in face of the hardship and adversity. After watched these movies, I notice that life itself is wonderful and treasurable. “To live” is a firm that telling a story about Fugui’s whole life, also to reflecting the phenomenon of the generation of Chinese people during the old Chinese time. Ju dou was struggling to survive under pressure and in a quest of her self-fulfillment for a better life, better than she was treated. She fall in love with Tianqing, the nephew of her husband, and give birth to a child for him.
In general, this behavior is not accepted in such a feudal society. But to analyze Ju Dou why she has to make a choice like this, first she was brought by Jinshan for provide the child to keep the family line. There is no choice and love between Ju dou and Jinshan. Secondly, Ju dou is a woman of youthful vitality, all she wants to be treated, may be she just expect a normal life same as other women and live with her truth love and to be spoiled at least better than she was treated.
