The role of women in Africa during the colonial times did not consist of being powerful, infact they lacked in power. The word Agbala meant that a man had no titles or was weak and considered a “Woman”.Therefore in the Igbo culture, women are considered weaker than the men and therefore it is an insult to men. Unlike women, men rule over their families, especially their wives.
