When Duncan goes to visit Macbeth’s castle, he praises the castle’s pleasant environment and hospitality, “This castle hath a pleasant seat. The air Nimbly and sweetly recommends itself Unto our gentle senses.” (Act 1, Scene 6, 37-53) This quote is significant because it contains dramatic irony, which audience already knows Duncan is going to be murdered but he has no idea. it relates to the thesis that he was tricked by the appearance pleasant castle and Macbeth’s hospitality finally be murdered by Macbeth. After the King Duncan and his sons have returned from the battlefield to the palace, the king speaks to his son Malcom about thane of Cawdor. Duncan, then, remarks that there is no trick or magic to knowing what a man 's character is since no man can read another man 's mind. “There 's no art To find the mind 's construction in the face: He was a gentleman on whom I built An absolute trust.” (Act 1, Scene 4, 12-15) This quote is significant because it displays dramatic irony. The audience knows Macbeth has had treasonous thoughts but Duncan does not know. Before Macbeth is going to kill Duncan, He starts to get the hang of this whole deception thing: he 's calling on his entire body to help him out, telling his "false face" to hide the treachery of his "false heart." “I am settled and bend up Each corporal agent to this terrible feat. Away, and mock the time with fairest show.False face must hide what the false heart doth know.” (Act 1, Scene 7, 79-82) This quote is significant because shows character development. Due to Lady Macbeth’s persuade he realizes he should hide his “false heart” to commit the murder without being catched. It relates to the thesis that it is he first time use his honorable appearance to hide his false heart is a way to commit crime, witch is the beginning of his madness. Before Macbeth murder his friend Banquor, he is still try to pretend he is the best friend of banquor. At this point Macbeth’s appearance is almostly becomes a cruel murder but still have not.
