Every Sunday is family night where my three sisters: Sofia, Gabriella, Aliyah, my papa and I all gather around the dinner table and spend the rest of the evening playing a game or watching television. This Sunday, was my papa’s choice to choose what to do, and like always, he picked to watch the discovery channel. We gathered around the television, turned it on, and in bright white block letter Jeffery Dahmer’s name lit up our television like a Christmas tree. Interest in what was played on television, I hit the web. Jeffery Dahmer is important to study because the trial only lasted a month: he was a cold hearted murder, and he was clever enough to stay out of prison multiple times

The Article, “Jeffery Dahmer Biography”, stated the trail started in January 1992. Dahmer first admitted his guilt during investigation, but during the trial he changed his plea to not guilty by reason of insanity. Dahmer’s lawyers attempted to prove that only an insane person could commit the viscous crimes of rape, murder, dismemberment, and cannibalism, but the jury sided with the prosecution defense that he was fully aware that his acts were horrific but chose to do them anyways (Jeffery Dahmer Biography). Plenty of evidence was brought upon Dahmer that led him to the conviction, according to the Crime Museum, “Upon entering the bedroom, pictures of dead bodies and dismembered limbs allowed the officers to arrest Dahmer. Further investigation of the home lead to a severed head in the refrigerator, three more severed heads in the apartment, multiple photographs of victims and human remains and more human remains in his refrigerator” (Crime Museum).
