The key objective of this activity is to teach students to solve math subtraction concepts by using a behaviorist approach. Deubel (2003) states that “If behavior is predictable, designers need to identify subskills students must master that lead to a learned behavior, and then select stimuli and presentation strategies that build the subskills ( p. 65)”.
Therefore, one can describe the acquisition of math skills as the acquiring of a skill or method of solution that has a predictable behavioral response. Deubel (2003) notes that when an instructional designer carefully selects stimuli and presentation strategies that are used to build subskills predetermined responses can be elicited.
The following math lesson is a learning activity that has been devised based on the behaviorist approach.

By integrating both internet and computer based media into the lesson the instructor hopes to increase the chances of eliciting the desired response from the learners. Firstly, a math YouTube video will be presented as an introduction to the subject matter. This video will serve as a hook for the beginning of the lesson. Secondly, the students will be using their electronic devices to engage in a computer based math game using the Starfall application. The students will use the Starfall application during their independent practice portion of this lesson. This E-learning activity will serve to reinforce the students’ subtraction skills, while increasing their engagement through participation in the use of the
