This behavior or response is called Health Seeking Behavior. HSB or Health Seeking Behavior differs from person to person as there are multiple factors that influence their activities or actions (Kotler, Shalowitz & Stevens, 2008). Due to these variations from person to person, psychologists or other specialists attempted to illustrate the cause of HSB by creating the Health-Belief Model or HBM. This model is posited in explaining and predicting the likelihood of an individual’s health related behavior (Marks, Murray, Evans, Willig, Woodall & Sykes, 2015). Conjunction of the two concepts will lead to the premise that the personal HBM of an individual will influence and predict the actual HSB of that …show more content…
In its main objective, education aims to make an individual learned and it has been the direct focus of education throughout the centuries. Today is no different but education professionals and practitioners have agreed on the educational philosophy that a person could be called learned when there is a change in behavior (McArdle, 2011). In education’s immense field, educational researches have been done that led to the formulation of learning and psychological theories. In relation, some learning or psychological theories that were formulated have been developed further via testing in the training or educational environment so that its effectiveness or its nullity could be argued. At present, we have several theories in which could be used as a learning strategyper se, be used as a cognitive foundation or be used to enhance learning in general. In this research, two constructivist theories will be used in its instructional design: (1) Leon Festinger’s Cognitive Dissonance Theory and (2) Rand Spiro’s Cognitive Flexibility Theory. These theories plus the educational philosophy of change in behavior would be the grounds of education in this research paper. It argues that if the main objective of education is to make a person learned by creating a change in behavior, then it views education as the key intervening factor in creating a change in the HBM of the individual leading to the change of HSB. It is
