In 1965, the International Softball World Championships made softball an international sport. It took place at the Farragut Boat Club at a gathering to hear the outcome of the Yale University and Harvard University football game.The outdoor version of softball was created eight years after its invention but the sport got its current-day name only in the 1920’s.
