“Shotgun,” I yelled. In the back of my mind, I knew calling for the front passenger seat was a bad idea when I saw one of the duffle bag taking up the whole feet mat. I plugged the GPS in with the address and it calculates approximately 4 hours before we could reach our destination. When car was finally moving, I looked at the clock and it was exactly 3:00 pm. I told everyone that we’ll have enough sunlight to get set up when we get to our destination. Grace drove about 20 minutes and everyone voted her not to drive anymore. I agreed with them as her driving was awfully terrifying and terrible. I was up next to be the driver since no one else wanted to drive. Forty minutes into the drive, the sounds of snoring just kept getting louder. At this point, my mind is like “is my driving skills that good that you guys trust me while you’re asleep?” Of course, the typical teenager brain that I had started to talk to me, as if there was a devil on my left shoulder telling me to speed, and an angel on my right shoulder telling me to drive safe. I started to speed. To spark things even more, I even swerved into the oncoming traffic lane. Sadly, no one packed any food so we had to find a local food market. The rays of sunlight were fading. Looking left and right out the tinted windows of the car, all we could see was the never-ending woods, as the dead lifeless brown leaves covered the grounds. Moments later, out of the blue, a deer jumps out of the tree lines and onto the pavement right in front of us. We rolled the cart out to the car, it was rough, it only had 3 wheels. Pete and Grace, made some adjustments and we were able to put the cooler filled with food covered with ice in the trunk. Off we went again, I continued to drive towards our destination, the GPS reads approximately 1.5 hours left before arrival. I start to speed again, go 70 on a 45 through the single wavy road as it was getting darker by the moment. By the time we reached our destination, it was pitch black.
