This quote is significant to the episode and as a whole for very similar reasons. The point of the book where this line is read, Santiago has finally reached the pyramids of Egypt. The whole novel leads the reader to this moment. Readers feel a sense of accomplishment after reading Santiago’s journey and seeing him finally achieve his dream. At this section Santiago “thanked God for making him believe in his Personal Legend, and for leading him to meet a king, a merchant, an Englishman, and an alchemist”(160). Santiago has gone through so many obstacles and there were many times when he tried to turn back. However, he kept moving forward and was able to achieve what he was destined to achieve.
