Since, I am presently employed at a long term Intense Outpatient Program, where the average length of treatment is between 9 months to 1 year and six months. While Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is designed for short term, it works well with Systems Therapy in long term outpatient setting. Therefore, the family will provide the framework for comprehending the individual’s response. CBT work well with adults and adolescents who are addressing their depression, grief, anxiety, anger and addiction (SAMHSA.gov/clinical-practice/sbirt/CBT.). Systems is excellent with assisting the adults and adolescents with a holistic approach toward meetings their treatment objectives. The individual to would be to recognize how their environments which consist of their family, friends, employment etc have impacted their overall abilities with addressing their concerns. Both CBT and Systems would empower the client to address whatever social and cultural barriers that the client may be encountering.
