Old major represents the Russian revolutionary leader Vlandimir llych Lenin. In the beginning of the story old major is talking about the dream he had. He saw things that he wanted to be changed now, so that way the farm could be a better living area for all the animals. He later then not help out with the whole plan because he dies, which leaves everyone wondering how they are suppose to draw out his dreams. “It is about this that i wish to speak to you” (3) Old major is trying to speak out to all of the animals so he can get what he knows is right out to everyone. He wants them to know that they are not being treated with the respect they need and they are giving up the things they produce to just be taken advantage of. Also in the beginning he is saying how he is about to die and when he dies he wants his dreams to be carried out because he knows what the animals are worth and they deserve more, than how they are being treated now. He is persuading the animals by saying all this on how the farm is going to be a better place for the animals. The only thing that is getting in his path of it being a good plan is that his plans are too lofty, he doesn’t know the outcome of what would happen. Old major talks as about all the good things that is going on, on the farm if they go along with his plan or dream. “Nearly the whole of the produce”. He is trying to persuade by saying everything good and then following that they will be able to get everything they gave away back. George Orwell wants the readers to know just because people have plans, they might now always know the outcome of it. So, you can’t always go for what they are
