I believe that summer homework should not be assigned because it would be too stressful and students need a break after a stressful year. While I understand that it is important to keep the skills that students learned throughout the year, I think that it is people’s choice whether or not they want to practice those skills with summer school or read on their own. Many students also have other responsibilities that they need to do during the summer, myself included. I am in the Schuler Scholar Program, and during the summer, the program sends me to a college during the summer and it was a very stressful time. I also have little cousins that I take care of during the summer so that my uncles and aunts can rest since they work long hours. I
