One the way-
I’m on my way to Shenandoah National park that is in Virginia. I plan to stay for three days at one of the cabins in the park. It’s only 75 miles away from the bustle of Washington D.C. I hope that we get two do a lot of cool things like hiking and I hope to learn a lot more about it than I already know. I did a little research on my own to figure out what are the basics of the park, why it is a national park, and the usual weather for it this time of year. I learned that there are four distinct seasons. Its best known for its vibrant fall foliage. In the spring, wildflowers and trees are in full bloom. Summer has greens and welcome relief from the valley temperature while winter has dramatic changes, especially in temperature and snow.

We all got up at the same time which is very rare ate breakfast and tried to decided what to do. We had such a hard time but we decided to go to the ranger program. Once we got there we figured out that it was only for fourth and fifth graders so only my brother was the only one able to go. While he was there my dad, mom, sister and I all went to the check in center to get some different brochures to learn a little more about Shenandoah. I got one and everyone else got a different ones. We learned that Shenandoah was established as national park because the commonwealth of Virginia slowly bought the land and then gave it to the U.S. federal government provided it would be designated a national park. Did you know that the park was established in the December of 1935? I didn’t know. We also read that it’s a national treasure because of the view amazing view of the moutains and all the different colors of leaves in the fall. When my brother got back from rangers camp he told us all about it like the service the rangers
