The constant expression of pride for the freedoms and liberties that American have enforces the idea that America is an empire and as an empire nothing can bring it down. But it is in the expression of pride and patriotism, political satire is created. Political satire is as entertaining and as destructive in bringing down the true colors of the concerns on issues that take place in America by American people. Unlike political protest and dissent, political satire is a way that people can criticize the political realm and not feel that the government will come down on them for their feelings. Political satire main goal is to balance political criticism with humor in a way that come off in a mocking manner. Political comics were once the main way of in creating America. Stewart takes a comedic approach with show but the satire is evident from just the setup of his show. Stewart has been known to on multiple occasion call out many national Republican leaders for their lack of common sense and lack of justification on issues that in his eyes are not good for the nation but only for a select few in the nation. In the most recent national topic about the recent non-indictment of the police officer in the deaths of Eric Garner, Stewart took a bit of a serious take on the topic because of the fact that he was left speechless on how in his opinion there was no indictment.
