When a child was taught, a tutor was sent to the house to teach, or the child had to walk to a school. Intelligent and gifted slaves could go to school too. They used clay tablets and scrolls to learn. Today, we use tutors differently, tutors we use are to help kids learn. Not many kids back then could learn.
