The number one thing I learned from this course was, not some literary device, but a greater lesson. To keep working on your weaknesses. I feel I was able to turn a weakness of mine, writing, into an ability I can be confident in. So, the ability to keep working was the greatest thing I have learned in this course, to never give up on a weakness. Overall, my first semester at University of Illinois has taught me so many things. Learning how other people live their lives, from completely different cultures different lifestyles. University of Illinois so far has taught me again how to work hard in academics. It also taught me that sometimes even if one hundred percent effort is put in you might still get a low grade. And that is okay, as long as it does not discourage yourself, the work has to continue to be put into the subject and there will be a breakthrough. These lessons will definitely be applied to other aspects in my life, in the short term this upcoming semester as I will know what to expect more.
